About The Bernese Mountain Dog

Bernese Mountain Dogs were originally from Switzerland. They are wonderful family dogs, and they are very trainable and smart. They are fairly sturdy dogs, but they do not normally live that long just about 7-10 years. I think that goes for all big dogs though, they just don’t live that long. Wow that sound mean.

When they get older allot of them have heart problems, and most of them are prone to cancer. I think that if you took good care of them, you don’t really have to worry about those issues.

BMD (Bernese Mountain Dog), do love big areas. They are not good dogs if you’re looking for apartment dog. As most big dogs, they like big spots to play in. They are very good with people and kids, but they can be somewhat aggressive with strangers.

Being as big and hairy as they are, they like colder places. I’m not saying you have to live in the North Pole to have one, it’s just they like the cooler temps.

Your pure breed BMD has a white chest and they are mostly black. They have brown on their legs, chest and face.

There’s not to much to say about this dog. LOL!
