Katy Perry (Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson) was born, October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara California. Both her parents were pastors, and she basically grew up with church music and she always sang it. Far from what she’s singing now. Lolz

She moved to Los Angeles when she was 18, hoping to make a brake. When then she was seen by Red Hill Records, where she made a gospel album (Katy Hudson) in 2001.

She says one of her biggest influences is the singer Queen.

She changed her name as she got older from Katy Hudson to Katy Perry (Perry being her mother’s middle name). She said “Katy Hudson is to close to Kate Hudson”.

She has always talked about her problems with record deals when she was younger. But then one day, Virgin Records came along, and found her in 2007.

She was recently on the VMA awards, where she sang Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”.

One Of the Boys CD was released June 17th 2008. Where she sings the hit song “Kissed by a Girl”. Some people do not like the song, I personally L.O.V.E it. My favorite song of the whole CD.

It is one of the top CD’s in many countries, such as. The U.S.A, UK, Canada… etc.

Also anther one of her hit songs from that CD, is “Ur So Gay”. A lot of people are hating this song, saying it’s against gay people. Which it in NOT, if you listen to the song.

Both songs have been on iToons #1 for quite sometime. She started Billboard’s HOT 100 at #76 soon climbing to #1.

Oh well, my moms not really a big fan of her, but I freakin’ love her. She’s cool. I went and bought her CD a few weeks ago, I didn’t realize it had been out for so long. Lolz. I guess I’m a tad bit slow??!!
