Teen Idols

This week on American Idol it was ROCK WEEK. Oh, I was so excited, because I kind of like rock. Well, not… Slash, Beatles type stuff. So that sucked. The mentor this week was SLASH <- makes me feel emo when I say that. That dudes hair is epic pimpness. All big and fluffy like that. Slash had them practicing on a stage, that was pretty cool.

They were going to do duets tonight. It was, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey. Then Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert (w00t).

It was kind of exciting to see what a couple of church goers were going to do. I figure Allison and Adam would be good (they’re not the church goers).

First up was, Adam Lambert: He sang, “A Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zepplin. That was a whole lotta weirdness. He looked Adamish tonight. Was he wearing colored contacts, or no? He reminded me of Liza Minelli dressed as a vampire that was on acid. Looked good though! Randy, thought he was a rocker and him and Slash should make a record. Kara thought he was a rock god and Paula said, “A whole lotta perfect”. Simon thought NO ONE could top that performance. Well, I would not go that far, I mean there was still ALLISON!

Oh, speaking of the devil (no not Adam). It is Allison Iraheta: She sang, “Crybaby” by Janis Joplin. She is so freakin awesome. DUDE, her hair. I want it… now! Randy was not a huge fan of the song, but thought she did well, not great. Kara said something about Allison and transformation… Paula thought that if there was a Janis Joplin bio she would have it. HUH Paula? Simon talked about her confidence… VOTED FOR HER!

DUET TIME! First one was Danny and Kris. Ew! They sang, “Renegade” by Styx. Okay, good news is… Danny was better of the two. Bad news, they sucked beyond belief. Someone PLEASE stab me in the ears with a knife. On second thought, please do not. Randy thought it was good. Kara thought they complemented each other. Paula thought it was powerful. Simon agreed with ME that Danny was better. I hope they never sing with each other again!

Kris Allen: He sang, “Come Together” by The Beatles. After that horrible duet I only hoped he would do better. He did not! I just give him credit because he is not a rocker. He did get to use Slashes guitar during the mentoring. And Kris said, “I thought I was going to pee my pants”. Randy loved the guitar thing, and realized he was not a rocker… Kara did not think it was great and thought he was trying to hard. Paula thought he put his signature on it. Simon did not like it at all and said nothing can compare to Adam, again. Simon to Adam = “I’d hit that”. Just sayin...

Danny Gokey: He sang, “Dream On” by Aerosmith. OMG! Danny singing SCREETCHING DREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM OOOOOOOOOOON? No way dudes. Randy thought it was alright but gave him an A+ for effort. Kara was glad to see him take risks. Paula did not think it was a right song choice for him. Simon thought the last note was something out a horror movie, but thinks he will be safe. That last note was like… O____O! Not in a good way. Him and Kris might be in the bottom. D has never been in the bottom, btw!

Adam and Allison duet time. They sang, “Slow Ride” by Foghat. That ish A-Ma-Zing! They are sooo uber good together. Did you guys see Adams skinnies? If those were not gay I dunno what is, but I want them. Randy thought they should duet on each others albums. Paula thought it was beautiful? Kara said, “Rock God and Goddess”. Simon said that win the show and Adam gave Allison a chance of staying. They should be the top 2.
